Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots are becoming an important component of digital Human Resource Management (HRM). They can provide employees with rapid responses to routine HR questions, support leave and attendance enquiries, guide employees towards policies and benefits, assist onboarding, and improve access to HR information. This paper examines the role of AI chatbots in HRM and employee support with emphasis on service efficiency, accessibility, employee experience, trust, privacy, accuracy and human intervention. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical research framework based on secondary literature and proposes a structured questionnaire for future empirical validation. Statistical tools include frequency and percentage analysis, mean, median, mode, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, weighted mean, Cronbach's alpha, chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, multiple regression and effect-size analysis. Interpretation rules are provided for each tool so that future primary-data results can be reported without fabricating findings. Existing research indicates potential benefits involving efficiency, time saving, personalization and employee experience, while also identifying privacy, bias, explainability, incorrect responses and loss of human interaction as important risks. The paper concludes that AI chatbots should complement rather than replace human HR professionals.
