Abstract

In recent years the situation has been altered by factors including constant technological progress and the growing prevalence of the hybrid working model, higher client expectations and the need to transform and expand, with this having changed the way workplace’s function and the standards that employees are now expected to meet. Employee performance may be defined as the level of productivity attained by employees in carrying out their duties and is a major element in determining organizational performance. Likewise, the highly developed global IT industry has experienced changes in the way people work, particularly in the present digitally enabled 'new normal' world. In the case of the Indian IT sector, where the rate of employee turnover and the rate at which skills become obsolete are both very high, it is particularly important to examine the relationship between performance and engagement.
