Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important computational technology for modern businesses, supporting automated decision-making, predictive analytics, customer personalization, fraud detection, recruitment, credit assessment, supply-chain optimization and intelligent process automation. However, the increasing dependence on AI-driven systems has introduced significant concerns relating to algorithmic bias, data privacy, lack of transparency, security vulnerabilities and accountability. These challenges are particularly important when AI systems make or influence decisions that affect employees, customers, investors and other stakeholders. Responsible Artificial Intelligence (Responsible AI) therefore requires businesses to move beyond model accuracy and incorporate fairness, privacy, explainability, robustness, transparency and accountability throughout the AI lifecycle.
The findings indicate that responsible AI cannot be achieved through a single algorithm or ethical guideline. It requires an integrated lifecycle approach in which technical controls and organizational governance operate together. The proposed framework can assist businesses, software developers, data scientists and IT managers in designing AI systems that are more transparent, secure, fair and accountable.
