Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the financial sector by changing how financial institutions, businesses, investors and individuals make financial decisions. The growth of financial data and advances in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and generative AI have made financial analysis faster and more efficient. AI is increasingly used in credit assessment, fraud detection, investment management, financial forecasting, portfolio management, risk management, customer analysis and regulatory compliance. These applications can improve decision-making speed, accuracy, efficiency and financial services. However, the use of AI also creates challenges such as poor data quality, algorithmic bias, lack of explain ability, privacy issues, cyber security threats, model risk and regulatory uncertainty. This paper examines the role of AI in financial decision making and explains how AI is changing traditional financial processes. The study follows a conceptual literature-review approach based on academic studies and reports from financial and technology institutions. It discusses the major applications, benefits and challenges of AI-powered financial decision making. The paper also proposes a responsible AI framework focusing on data governance, prediction, explain ability, human oversight and continuous monitoring. The study concludes that AI should support rather than completely replace financial professionals, combining advanced technology with human judgment to achieve transparent, fair, secure and effective financial decisions.
